SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY

Hebrews 10:23-25  " Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)  and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.   Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another,  and so much more as ye see the day approaching."

The part of this Scripture that I am writing about is:  "not forsaking the assembly of  ourselves together."  To me, not only it is a privilege to go to the House of God, but it also, is a necessity.  I cannot do without  that encouragement that I get to help me during the week.   I know that some think one service a week is enough.  Churches are getting away from Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting.  Sunday night services have become almost  eating and  games for the youth.  Nothing wrong with eating and having games for youth ~ but not on church night.  I know the excuse is that is youth need something.  True, but if they get in with entertainment, they will always have to be entertained and they won't last long.  They need to be in a church service where the anointing is.  They need to hear the Word to learn how to grow in the Christian life.

Anyway, I guess you see how important I think church services are.  But there is more in this verse alone with going to church.    Did you notice the "consider one another." in this verse?   We should not go with "what's in it for me,"    You might be surprised what is in it for you if you go in the right spirit.   Our attitude should be, " how  can I be a blessing to others!"  Someone needs our presence, our prayers, our influence, our singing and praising.  Someone may be disappointed if we are not there.

Also notice, "to  provoke unto love and good works."  What can we do in a service that promotes love? Our actions are very important. We could come in and say little things that may ruin the service for someone else. If we want to carry the service unto love  and good works there are a few things we can do.   First of all, we can come in with a positive attitude, we can sing and praise from the heart. If the Holy spirit moves on you to testify or even to say "Amen," don't grieve the Spirit.  It will not only affect you but it will affect others.  I have been in services where one person minding the Lord set the spirit for the service.  Others followed.

"But exhorting one another."  Everyone comes to church with some kind of a burden.  They need assurance, encouragement, a cheery word from someone.  Let that someone be you!  We have services where we get each other and go to the altar and pray.  Not all churches have that freedom, but our pastor lets us know that the altar is always open.  I thank God for that.  Just be an encourager..  You can make a difference in the worship service. You can make a difference in someone's week.   Do you want to be that person that makes a difference?  I do! Give it a try when you go to church again.  You might be surprised how you come away blessed!

THIS AND THAT!

I have been busy doing this and that and - Oh well you get the picture!  I started baking some Amish Friendship loaves.  Got two done.  Then Silas got some mayhaws.  Jelly time!  We got all the juice ready one day and the next day we put up 15 pints.  Then it was the week end.  So we were waiting until Monday to finish it up.
I work at the church office on Monday and Wednesday mornings to help our sweet little secretary out. It is all volunteer work.  I usually get home about noon.  When I walked in the kitchen I could not believe what I saw.
Sixteen - yes, 16 pints of jelly.  Silas had helped me with the first batch and decided that he could do  it to help me out.  He actually did it!  All by himself!  I was so proud of him.  Not just for the jelly but because he was so thoughtful.

Last week was mid-term exams for Adam.  We are into our second semester.  He has worked hard and the harder he works the harder I have to work.  It is challenging at times.  But the 9 weeks test plus the mid term test really wore me out.  His lowest grade so far is a 97.  He is learning and I am re-learning!  Guess you never get to old to learn.  It will be worth all the effort I put into it to see him serving the Lord.  He is doing so good spiritually, also.  Studying Proverbs on his own.  Said he needed wisdom so he writes down scripture and wants to learn more.  This thrills me!

Seems I have had to put some things on hold for awhile.  I feel I need wisdom, also.  We feel so inadequate,
to face some of the things that have come our way lately.  But our God is seeing us through.  I'm glad He is the God of the valley as much as He is God of the mountains.  In our lowest moments He is always there to remind us that He is right there with us.  That's my God.  He is good all the time.
He gives us so many blessings and if we look at what He has already done we know He will not fail us now.

We seem to hear of so many that are going through trials and are having to fight the good fight of faith.  I think the devil knows his days are short.  The Lord's coming is nigh at hand and I want to fight a good fight and keep the faith and finish the course.  I'm sure that is all our desires.  May God bless all of you and give you a blessed week.

CALVARY

Dark Calvary turns into a Glorious Day.

It was a dark day at the cross when Jesus died.  Thank God!  He is alive  forever more. He did it all for us that we may live again with Him for eternity.  What a Savior!  I'm glad He is  mine.

CHRIST IS RISEN, HALLELUJAH

HE'S NO LONGER ON THE CROSS.  WE CAN WORSHIP AND BOW BEFORE HIM THIS EASTER SUNDAY BECAUSE HE LIVES.

HE LIVES, HE LIVES, CHRIST JESUS LIVES TODAY.
HE WALKS WITH ME AND TALKS WITH ME
AND TELLS ME I AM HIS OWN.
HE LIVES, HE LIVES, SALVATION TO IMPART.
YOU ASK ME HOW I KNOW HE LIVES?
HE LIVES WITHIN MY HEART.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

IN OUR SAVIOR'S PRECIOUS NAME,
  ALIENE

HEN HOUSE AND YARD

My chicks are hatching.  You can see my hen house and yard.  This was an early birthday present.  As you can see ~ it is on wheels so it can be moved around.   The chicks hatched just in time.  Inside is the roost!  Right now we have about 20 baby chicks in there.  In a few weeks we will turn them out in the yard. There is a hole cut for them to go in and out of the hen house.  It is not open as of yet.
The windows are screened ~ so they can be open for light.  The door is on the left side to get in and out of the hen house. I really don't know how long it will be before they start laying.  Maybe this fall.

Need to get the day going with the home schooling.  We are on the first semester finals.
Have a good day!

PRETTY FLOWERS.

This is some of  my flowers that have bloomed or now in the process of blooming.  The pink Amaryllis is my favorite..  I had two of them to bloom, but have more than I transplanted last year and they will be at least another year before showing their beauty.

This is a white with red ~ I call it peppermint.  I have several of these in the ground.  Several more will bloom.  Also have red that has bloomed.  It has a touch of white.
The one below is a lavender and white iris. I had several of these to bloom.  I also had several yellow ones to bloom.  I think more will bloom when we get warmer weather.

I have a whole row of Easter Lilies that are heading up to bloom.  Hopefully they will bloom for Easter
but I think probably not.  It doesn't really matter.  They will be pretty when they bloom all at one time.

Hope you had a good day at church today.  We did and are looking forward to tonight's service.
God is good ~ so good, even in the bad times.  I want to be like these flowers and bloom where ever the
Lord plants me.  He up-roots us sometimes and has to do some trimming away and re-potting.
But He knows what He is doing ~ we just say "Ouch"  and go on after awhile we will bloom again.

I have been trying to write for two weeks but seems everything was jumbled up in my mind.  We are in a trying place in our life, but I am not complaining,   My God is good , even in the bad times.  He sends so many blessings our way that they far out weigh the bad times.

I'm glad He is God and knows exactly what He is doing.  I have no idea what the Lord is trying to do, but I do know it is for our good and His glory.  I also know when we get through and He reveals to us His plan ~ that we will be made to rejoice that we left it in His
Hands.

As I have gone through life I have found that with each new trial there is always a blessing.   I am reminded of what Jesus went through on the cross for me and I bow my head in shame to think that I should complain about anything He sends my way.  He is such a wonderful Savior! He not only saves, but He leads and directs our life.  Sometimes  the path may be rocky and the skies gray, but He is always there to brighten the way.

I have always like the Poem "FOOTPRINTS."  I have found lately, as I  glance  back that, there is only one set of Footprints.  Don't we serve a Wonderful Savior?
