THE POTTER

I thought for the day that I would add a poem I wrote almost 15 years ago. (I had this on my blog when I first started but I did not have any followers.) I was going through a very difficult time then. I find comfort in reading God's Word. It has been my consolation since I was a child. I have penned writings and poems on paper for years thinking they were just for me. I've read over them many times and found encouragement. I always keep my concordance near by and a dictionary. Sometimes I am amazed at what a word really means. The Scripture for that particular day was:
Philippians 3:10 "That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death."
To be made conformable is to be made in His image. Right then  this poem
popped into my head and I put it down on paper.  So I am posting it again.

THE POTTER
Lord, you are the Potter I am the clay,
Put me on the Potter's wheel and mold me I pray.
Molding is a life time of forming day by day.
Sometimes it means heartaches For that little lump of clay.
Sometimes it means sorrow, Sometimes a lot of pain.
Sometimes the skies are bright Sometimes there is rain.
Lord, help me to remember You are at the wheel,
Trying to confrom me to your blessed will.

Remind me often, Lord that You suffered heartaches too
So much - I can't imagine just what you went through.
So mold me and help me not to murmur nor complain
To adversities that come that bring a lot of pain.
Mold me, Lord, and shape me in Thine own sweet way
So I can be of service and used of you each day.

I find at this time in my life that the Lord  is still molding me.  One day I will be in His image completely and oh~ what a day that will be.  No more heartaches, no more pain, no more sorrow.  Until then I try to remember that what He does is His business.  At times I have no idea what He is doing but I know that it will be for my good.  If He can get the glory ~ that is all I want.

I love this poem...one of my first post, and like you, no followers, was the first of this year when I posted that God was putting me back on the potters wheel. This poem speaks directly to what was and still is going on in my life. My word for 2010 was that HE was molding me again and I was to stay on the potters wheel.
Thanks for sharing...I so enjoyed and was encouraged.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Loved the Poem! It was beautiful. It reminds me of a scripture in Romans....Romans 8:29 . For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. It does take time and sometimes pain in suffering to be conformed to His image, but Amen, We know that to suffer with HIm is to reign with Him! (2 Tim. 2:12)

Hi Sister Ailene,
I got your comment on my blog a while back and appreciated it very much. We've been so busy that I'm just now getting back to "stopping by."

You mentioned that Bro. Rusty Silvertooth is your pastor. I visited your church website and you may be interested to know that we recently got to enjoy Bro. Josh and Sis. Amber Adams for a whole week during our missions revival. Bro. Mike Adams and Sis. Donna Adams are brethren we love in the Lord and have even been to our home for dinner. Bro. Ricky and Sis. Judy Dunsford are missionaries sent out of our church and are our friends also. Very many of the missionaries your church supports are the same ones we support. I thought maybe you'd like to know that.
